Technological innovation is the source of major changes within industries. The defense industry does not ignore this fact. The arrival on the defense market of civil companies, with cutting-edge technologies, sometimes disruptive, implies substantial changes in aspects such as the definition of the industry, the level of existing competition, changes in supply chains, forms of financing for research and development (R&D), the performance obtained, and industrial policies. This study analyzes in a synthetic way the changes in these aspects together with the needs of the ministries of defense to prepare themselves for future conflicts. |
